School No 1: School No. 1 in the Hamtramck school district stood at Beaufait and Gratiot in the late 19th century. The site is now a vacant lot.
White Star: The White Star theater showed Polish and American films when this photo was taken in 1939. Note Franum theater at left.
Veterans Memorial Park Stadium: In 1941 the stadium at Veterans Memorial Park underwent a major renovation.
Men in front of the Township Office: This is one of the earliest photos of Hamtramck. It dates from about 1900.
St. Francis Hospital: St. Francis Hospital was originally named Hamtramck Municipal Hospital when it opened in 1927. It became Hamtramck City Hall in 1969. Currently the city is planning to close the building and move operations to the Department of Public Works building. What

Carpenter School: Carpenter School was one of the oldest schools in Hamtramck. It used to stand where the parking structure is now across from the Former North Detroit General Hospital on Carpenter.
Joesph Campau, 1915: A classic car stands in front of these buildings, which are among the oldest left in Hamtramck. They still stand near the viaduct and date from about 1915.
